$1,500 – HERO Highway Billboards

Scores of billboards throughout New Jersey ask motorists to, “Be a HERO. Be a Designated Driver,®” and honor the memories of DUI victims as sober reminders of the human cost of drinking and driving.

$1,000 – Highway HEROES Decal Program

The “Be a HERO” car window decals are one of the most effective ways of spreading the HERO message to the largest audience. State & Local police have chosen to promote designated driving by placing them on their vehicles. The decals are also distributed at community events like National Night Out, school and professional sporting events, HERO business and entertainment partners, and through requests on our website.

$500 – Pledge & Registration Drives

Drivers of all ages are encouraged to take the HERO Pledge online not to drink and drive, and to use designated drivers whenever they are drinking alcohol. The pledges are also taken during registration drives at school and college events, sports venues, and at community events and festivals.

John R. Elliott HERO Walk & 1-Mile Fun Run

One thousand walkers, runners, volunteers, and sponsors join us along the Ocean City, NJ Boardwalk to promote the importance of designated drivers and to recognize the victims of DUI and their families.

Bar and Tavern Safe Ride Program

The HERO Campaign partners with bar and tavern owners, taxi companies, and ride sharing services to provide discounted safe rides home for selected patrons.

DUI Victim Advocacy

HERO Campaign staff work with families of DUI victims to honor their memories in their communities, including educational programs at schools and businesses.
