Jack’s in Long Branch, New Jersey Creates HERO Cups

Long Branch, NJ, October 2012 – Jack’s Goal Line Stand, a local favorite of Monmouth University students and community members alike, honored the HERO Campaign for Designated Drivers® by having the Campaign’s logo printed on cups used at their establishment. Nick Petitti, the owner of Jack’s, has been a supporter of the Campaign for many years by serving free soft drinks to designated drivers and supporting Monmouth University HERO Nights.

Jack’s was also one of the first bars to sign on for the HERO Campaign’s summer program, Jersey Shore HEROES, which asked bars, taverns, restaurants, and liquor stores to support the HERO Campaign by serving a free soft drink to patrons that were designated drivers. With great support from establishments like Jack’s, 150 establishments joined the Jersey Shore HEROES program, sparking a wonderful first year.

The HERO Campaign for Designated Drivers ® was founded by the family of Ensign John R. Elliott, who was killed by a drunk driver, soon after he graduated from the Naval Academy. The mission of the Campaign is to prevent future drunken driving tragedies by promoting the use of safe and sober designated drivers.
